Otakufy does not serve ads or sell personal data. Passwords are salted, cryptographically hashed, and managed exclusively via secure cloud infrastructure.
1. Information We Collect
Otakufy collects only the minimal information strictly required to facilitate your language learning. This includes your account email, optional display name, and learning telemetry (earned XP, daily streak counters, Spaced Repetition review intervals, and quiz attempt history). We never collect credit card numbers, payment details, phone numbers, or physical addresses.
2. Password Security & Cryptographic Storage
Your passwords are never stored or transmitted in plaintext. All authentication credentials are encrypted using industry-standard, salted one-way cryptographic hashes (bcrypt) managed directly by Supabase Auth cloud infrastructure. Neither the platform creator nor database administrators can view or access your actual password.
3. Purpose of Data Use & Zero Data Sales
Your data is used exclusively to synchronize your study progress across devices, calculate personalized Spaced Repetition schedules, and render leaderboard rankings. We do not sell, rent, monetize, or disclose personal user data to advertisers or third-party brokers under any circumstances.
4. Trusted Third-Party Infrastructure
Otakufy is hosted using enterprise-grade cloud providers: Supabase for managed database and authentication services, Vercel for global edge CDN delivery and hosting, and Sentry for anonymous application error diagnostics. Each provider maintains strict independent data protection certifications.
5. Cookies & Local Storage
We do not employ third-party advertising or tracking cookies. Browser local storage (localStorage) is utilized strictly for interface preferences (such as Light and Dark theme selections, seasonal animations, and audio volume toggles) and secure authentication session tokens (JWTs) to keep you logged in.
6. Data Retention & Account Deletion
You retain full ownership of your data and have the right to delete your account and all associated study telemetry at any time via your account settings or by submitting a deletion request.
